Athletic Training Faculty Speaks on Concussions at Medical Meeting

Chris Hummel, MS, ATC, Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Exercise and Sport Sciences, recently presented at a regional Concussion Management conference held in Syracuse, NY hosted by St. Joseph's Hospital.  Chris spoke on various issues regarding concussion management for high school and collegiate athletes to an audience of 50 physicians, athletic trainers and other healthcare providers. Particular emphasis was placed on creating policies and procedures for high schools and colleges to ensure safe return to activity following concussion, along with the essential role that Certified Athletic Trainers play in this critical process.
