ICView, Ithaca College's magazine for alumni, family, and friends, has an editorial internship
position available for journalism and writing students for Spring 2012.

The intern in this position will work directly with the senior editor of the magazine, who will oversee his or her work throughout the semester and provide guidance on the craft and process of magazine publishing. The student will write a number of articles for ICView, which is read by more than 60,000 readers. The student will earn three credit hours and receive a credit in subsequent issues of ICView.

This internship will require about 12.5 to 13 hours per week. Some of this time will be spent attending campus events and reporting on them; interviewing guest speakers, faculty, students, alumni, or staff; and other tasks needed for publishing a magazine on deadline. Some events may be in the evening or on weekends.

While this internship is research-, interview-, and writing/revision-intensive, interns may
also have the opportunity to shape the experience according to their specific skills, which may include creating multimedia web extras, design, photography, editing and proofreading, or other relevant areas of magazine publication. The intern may also be responsible for finding existing material that can be used as web extras.

Demonstrated writing ability and experience required. Expertise using photo and video cameras is a plus.

If you are interested in applying for this internship, please send a cover letter, résumé, and three writing samples by December 20 to Allison Kaiser, editorial assistant, at akaiser@ithaca.edu.
