The Ithaca College Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and several Bomber teams paired with IC Give Back to raise funds and purchase goods for the Binghamton Relief Organization in the months leading up to the holiday season. SAAC, along with the women’s basketball, men's and women's crew, football, golf and women’s lacrosse teams, participated in the fundraiser.

IC Give Back, in conjunction with the Binghamton Relief Organization, charged these groups to each raise 150 dollars for supplies and gifts for their assigned family. The teams and SAAC combined to raise over 1,500 dollars.

Presents that were wrapped and delivered included children’s clothing and shoes, towels, washcloths and bedding, a coffee maker, books and toys, gloves and hats. Additionally, gift cards were purchased for the families affected by the 2011 floods.

SAAC President Racquel Lividini, a senior on the women’s lacrosse team, saw this opportunity as an invitation to help local families in need and show the community what Bomber athletes are all about. “The athletes at IC are a big portion of this college – it is important that we utilize the 26 varsity sports we have to make a difference.

“It was a great experience for all involved. We hope to keep in touch with the families we helped and have them come to our games and meet the teams,” said Lividini. “SAAC is looking for community service and fundraising opportunities. We want to make it known that we want to help and are more than just student-athletes.”
