Entrepreneurs Dr. Derek Cabrera and Dr. Laura Colosi, of iDSRP.org, will be speaking this Thursday, January 26, in Room 111 of the Dorothy D. and Roy H. Park Center for Business and Sustainable Enterprise, from 12:10 – 1:00 p.m.
Together, Drs. Colosi and Cabrera created the DSRP Method, which is a research-based method for teaching thinking skills and content knowledge simultaneously. The DSRP Method is used by teachers and students from Pre School to Grad School in any topic or subject. Their vision is to get “Thinking at Every Desk.”
Asked, why have Dr. Colosi and Dr. Carera speak at the School of Business, Lecturer Heather Lane said, “I was interested in Derek and Laura’s business model and their research on thinking. I like to lay the ground work for a more innovative and creative mindset. Of course this leads right into the entrepreneurial action.”
According to Dr. Colosi and Dr. Carera, “Scientific research, common sense, and everyday experience reveals that getting our students to think is the #1 thing we can do to create better students, better schools, better employees and bosses, better politicians and systems, better citizens, and a better society. We invite you to join us in our Vision to bring thinking skills to every desk. “
"We're very pleased to welcome Dr. Cabrera and Dr. Colosi. As a School we are encouraging creativity and innovative thinking in our students and these two speakers will further these efforts," said Dean Mary Ellen Zuckerman.
