The Diversity Awareness Committee of Ithaca College is offering students the opportunity to participate in dialogues on race through Talking Circles. Facilitated by the Multicultural Resource Center, students will be able to come together on campus in a safe environment to share feelings, thoughts and experiences on the issues of race and racism.
Talking Circles emphasize confidentiality, self-reflection and active listening in order for participants to learn from each others' experiences and perspectives. To learn more about Talking Circles and the Multicultural Resource Center facilitation, please visit:

Who may participate?
From the applications we receive, we will select approximately 20 students to engage in a deeply personal and confidential conversation on race and ethnicity. Students from all races, ethnic backgrounds and creeds are encouraged to apply for this opportunity.
When will the Talking Circles be held?
The Talking Circles will begin on Wednesday Febuary 1 and will run on consecutive Wednesday evenings, from 7:00 to 9:00pm for five weeks. Students must commit to being an active participant in the group for all five sessions. Note that the Talking Circles start date has been pushed back one week so students can attend the keynote speaker event with Svante Myrick during MLK week at 7pm Wed January 25.
