The Brownskin Band will be performing in Emerson Suites this Saturday night!
Join us as we celebrate the end of MLK Week with music!
Inspired by groups like Mint Condition, The Roots, and Tony! Toni! Toné! the group Brownskin, based out of Syracuse, NY, was formed in August 2007. They got their name when founder Nate Brown combined his last name with his instrument of choice the drums more affectionately known as “skins”. Faced with the initial challenges of finding a cohesive group of talented and likeminded musicians he found his current band mates on his second try. With Nate on Drums, Gary Carter on vocals, Joe Cummings on keyboard and vocals, John Dale on bass, Danielle Mitchell on vocals, and Ekwan Brooks on keyboard, Brownskin is up and running and actively pursuing their dream of recording their own original CD and using it as a means to spread their infectious positive energy throughout the world.
