Every year, colleges, universities, and communities across the country (and now in other countries, as well!) host an unforgettable overnight event that takes place around a track. Caregivers, cancer survivors--anyone who has been affected by cancer either directly or indirectly join together in teams to support the American Cancer Society in the race for a cure. All night there are fun activities, fundraisers, and performances around the track. Some people come for just a few hours and others stay all night.
Relay is not a marathon event in which you must be physically fit to participate. At your leisure, you can walk around the track in support of the fight against cancer. Stop at anytime to enjoy food, music, activities, and hearing others' stories about their experience with cancer.
Relay is a fundraising event. Registering online today gives you time to send emails to collect donations from your friends, family members, neighbors, professors--everyone. The Relay website allows you to set up a personal page to track your progress, share your story, and send pre-written emails to tell your friends about Relay and collect donations.
This year, Relay For Life of Ithaca College will be held on Saturday, March 31st from 4:00pm to 4:00am in the Hill Center Gym at Ithaca College. Students, faculty, staff, friends, family, and community members are all strongly encouraged to attend.
So tell your friends about how great Relay For Life is. Start a team today. This year's Relay theme is Jungle! Maybe you can think of clever ways to incorporate that into your team's fundraising strategies and outfits for the evening.
