About Koch Brother Exposed

Charles and David Koch were virtually unheard of at the beginning of 2011, and that’s the way they would have preferred it to stay. Come this spring, acclaimed Director Robert Greenwald (Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price, Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch’s War on Journalism, Rethink Afghanistan) releases Koch Brothers Exposed , a full-length feature film based off the popular and widely shared viral series that made the Kochs a household name.

In March 2011, Greenwald faced and conquered a $40 billion Koch hurdle by launching a multi-fold grassroots, new media campaign.

Skipping traditional film distribution routes, Koch Brothers Exposed started as an online investigative series of short videos that could easily be shared or tweeted to those on the front lines. As the YouTube views, Facebook shares and tweets grew, so did the spotlight that was being cast on the brothers Koch.

“The moment I discovered the intrusive, overtly influential yet covert tactics Charles and David Koch have so successfully enacted to buy our democracy, we charged ahead to expose who these billionaire brothers truly are,” said Greenwald. “We will no longer allow them to hide in the shadows behind their Fortune 500 businesses and philanthropic pursuits while they attempt to remake our nation.”   The full-length feature connects the dots on how the Kochs’ impact our daily lives – such as efforts to suppress voter rights, re-segregate public schools and weaken EPA regulation – through their immense echo chamber of influence. The film exposes the astro-turf front groups that the Koch brothers helm, as well as the legions of followers who enable their attacks on American values.
