David Turkon of Anthropology presents talk to the Sustainable Development Cluster meeting at the University of the Free State in South Africa

David Turkon gave a presentation on February 27 to the New Frontiers in Poverty Reduction and Sustainable Development (NFPRSD), a "Strategic Academic Cluster" at the University of the Free State (UFS) in Bloemfontein, South Africa. David's talk highlighted the value of social network analysis as a basis for selection methods and for monitoring and evaluation in rural and peri-urban, sustainable development initiatives. David was visiting UFS to explore research collaboration with members of NFPRSD and the Department of Anthropology, as well as the possibility of partnering to establish a mixed-methods oriented field school in applied anthropology.
