The Sustainability Café on Monday, April 16th will feature Maura Stephens from the Park Center for Independent Media at Ithaca College, discussing the contention that “Fracking is a Crime”. The Café will be held in Center for Natural Sciences Room 112 at 4:00PM.
In April 2010, Maura Stephens was named associate director of the Park Center for Independent Media. In a career now in its fourth decade, Maura has worked in both mainstream and independent media. She believes strongly that journalism is a critically important component of any democratic society and that it can and should be a noble profession. A generalist and systems thinker, Maura sees the connections between all disciplines. Besides journalism, independent media, and media reform, among the many subjects of Maura’s expertise and interest are climate change, fracking for methane gas, organic farming, sustainability, urban lot reclamation, and protection of water rights.
