A recently returned Fulbright student will give a presentation on Tuesday, April 17, from 12:10-1:00pm in Friends 201.
Antonio Tahhan (Cornell 2008) spent the 2010-2011 year as a Fulbright student in Syria, and will speak about his experience there, as well as about the Fulbright application process. All students are welcome, but especially juniors and seniors interested in fashioning an exciting "gap year" after graduation.
Fulbright sends recent graduates abroad to perform research or to assist English teachers in the host country. Fulbright welcomes applications from students of all disciplines, and no prior teaching experience is necessary for students applying for English Teaching Assistantships (ETAs). Last year, 21 Ithaca College students applied for Fulbright awards, and seven of those have reached the finalist stage.
There will be time to ask questions about the Fulbright scholarship as well as other competitive external awards available to Ithaca College students. Again, the presentation is Tuesday, April 17, 12:10-1:00pm in Friends 201.
