The IC Gerontology Institute is delighted to welcome two new staff members - Paula Davis, Assistant Director, and Denise Wells, Outreach and Engagement Coordinator.
Paula Davis joined the ICGI on March 16 as the Assistant Director for the Gerontology Institute. In this role, she will assist in setting direction, coordinating operations, and developing and administering programs and functions of the Gerontology Institute. She will also be responsible for providing leadership in the development and implementation of communication and marketing plans as well as carrying out the fiscal management of the ICGI.
Paula comes to the ICGI with an extensive background in marketing, communication, and development. Her career in marketing has spanned Kendal at Ithaca, PBS, and Cornell University. She also has many years of experience managing foundation and corporate relations, first at Ithaca College and later at St. Bonaventure University.
Denise Wells joined the ICGI on April 16 as the Outreach and Engagement Coordinator. Denise will provide administrative, program development, and program management support for all the outreach and engagement activities of the Gerontology Institute. She will lead the planning, implementation, coordination of ICGI workshops, annual conference, student engagement, service learning, and community outreach programs.
Denise has many years of experience in areas such as event coordination, web and social media development, as well as program development for summer programs in the IC Division of Graduate and Professional Studies (GPS). She is familiar to ICGI faculty and staff through her role as liaison to the GPS for the ICGI Workshop Series and Annual Conference.
Paula and Denise will work in the ICGI’s offices on the fourth floor of the Center for Health Sciences. Please join us in extending our heartfelt welcome to both of them.
