Ithaca Alumni Prominent Among Tony Award Nominees, Including Four Individual Nominations

Ithaca College, The School of Humanities and Sciences, and the Department of Theatre Arts congratulate all of our alumni involved in their Tony-nominated productions!
Three alumni were nominated for four individual Tony awards:
- Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical: Jeremy Jordan '07, Newsies
- Best Play: Peter and the Starcatcher, Larry Hirschhorn '80 Producer
- Best Revival of a Play: Gore Vidal's The Best Man, Larry Hirschhorn '80 Producer
- Best Sound Design of a Musical: Acme Sound Partners (Tom Clark '81), The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess
Our alumni also played important roles in many of the other shows nominated:
- Ben Fankhauser '11, along with Jeremy Jordan, is a member of the cast of Best Musical nominee Newsies
- Fletcher McTaggart '93 is a member of the cast of Best Musical nominee Leap of Faith
- Kerry Butler '92 is a member of the cast of the Best Revival of a Play nominee Gore Vidal's The Best Man
- Joanna Lynne Staub '94 is the associate sound designer to Best Sound Design of a Play nominee Gareth Owen, The End of the Rainbow
- Annie Van Nostrand '08 is the sales manager in the producing office of Jesus Christ Superstar
- Michael Altbaum '08 is the assistant company manager for Jesus Christ Superstar and was the assistant company manager for Follies, both nominated for Best Revival
The American Theatre Wing's Antoinette Perry Awards will be given out live on CBS, Sunday, June 10th at 8:00 p.m.
