Early next week, Ithaca College will welcome the 2012 New York State Association of College Admission Counseling (NYSACAC) Conference to campus. The event will be held from Tuesday, June 5, through Friday, June 8, and will bring to our campus over 700 high school guidance counselors, independent educational consultants, and higher education professionals.
NYSACAC is the state association affiliated with the National Association of College Admission Counseling, which has been a driver of professionalism and inclusivity in the admission counseling field since its founding in 1937. Hosting the NYSACAC Conference will provide tremendous visibility for Ithaca College. Guidance counselors from over 100 different high schools across the state will be joined by other key influencers who work with college-bound students and guide them in the college search process.
The A&E Center will serve as the ‘hub’ of many conference activities, from registration to meals and large events. However, the conference events will also occupy the Campus Center and several academic and administrative buildings along the Academic Quad. Furthermore, this is a residential conference, meaning that most guests will be housed on campus in the Garden Apartments, Emerson, and several of the Upper Quad residence halls.
Conference attendees will be easily identified by name badges and expressions of general confusion. While signage and staff will be available to point them in the right direction, please feel free to welcome our guests and show them our Ithaca College hospitality. We hope to create a welcoming and productive experience that will not only showcase our facilities, programs, and people but also leave a lasting impression with our guests for years to come.
Thank you in advance.
