Already serving as a member of the Association of College and Research Librarians (ACRL) Board through July 2013, our College Librarian Lis Chabot has just been appointed to two additional national leadership roles in her professional organization.
Lis will serve as a member of of ACRL's Research Planning and Review Committee, the group responsible for preparing a well-regarded annual publication documenting trends in academic librarianship and higher education, as well as relevant elements in the broader environment. This is a prestigious group within ACRL, made up primarily of well-known library professionals from R-1 institutions, and it is quite a coup for IC to be represented in this way.
In addition to earning a place on this committee, Lis has also been selected to serve a three-year term as ACRL liaison to the Council of Independent Colleges. Lis has been doing some truly exceptional work during the first part of her term on the ACRL Board, and it is wonderful to see her efforts gaining wider recognition among her peers. If you see Lis around campus this summer, please join me in congratulating her on these successes.
