Facilitators needed for First Year Reading Initiative - 2012 Fall Welcome August 28th.
We are still looking for volunteers for the 2012 First Year Reading Initiative Fall Welcome event. This year's book is 10,000 Saints by our very own Department of Writing faculty member Eleanor Henderson. This excellent novel was included in the New York Times list of Top 5 fiction for 2011. The first activity for our FYRI includes small group discussions with incoming students just before classes start on the morning of August 28th during Fall Welcome. We are looking for a few more staff, faculty, administrator, or alumni volunteers who are interested in facilitating these discussions with our new students.
Please click here to sign up and I'll get you your book asap.
For your information, in a few weeks we will start a short series of summer book discussions hosted by Nick Kowalczyk (Writing) and Chris Holmes (English) - snacks and drinks provided. These are completely optional.
