Yes, we counted - we "spotted" 260 of the folks who attended today's All-College meeting bringing along their own reusable beverage container. WELL DONE! All those brought their own mug or bottle or cup or glass were rewarded with a "Spotted" card, which can be redeemed for a free 16 oz. beverage refill at any IC Dining retail location. Please note that these special "Spotted" cards are only good until the end of Fall break (October 19th).
Thanks to the Office of the President for including in their Intercom meeting announcements a reminder for attendees to support our ongoing campus sustainablity efforts by bringing their own mug.
Many thanks to Ithaca College Dining Services which makes possible this "Spotted" card program by underwriting the free beverage refills. Thanks, too, to Mark Darling, Sustainability Programs Coordinator for Facilities and coordinator of the Resource and Environmental Management Program (REMP), for assisting with "spotting" duties this morning. There were so many of you who followed directions and brought your own beverage container, it was hard to keep up with our "spotting" efforts - which was a GREAT problem to have.
If you missed being "spotted" at today's meeting - or even if you were one of those we did "spot" doing the right thing - please keep in mind four important things about regularly using a refillable beverage container on campus:
Thanks for continuing to assist our campus sustainability efforts. Please "think before you drink" : remember to bring along a reusable beverage container when you're going for a coffee break or heading to IC Square or one of the dining kiosks for lunch. You just never know when you might get "spotted" doing the right things right.
