Syracuse native Jordan Morton will host a farewell recital at the Delavan Art Gallery, Sunday September 23rd.
All are welcome. The gallery, located on 501 W. Fayette Street, will be open to the public during the day. The seated musical event will begin at 2 pm and last for about one hour, with a light reception to follow.
The program will traverse many genres of music, from classical to jazz, folk to original compositions, in collaboration with Ithaca College colleagues Ethan Jodziewicz (double bass, guitar) Damien Scalise (guitar) and Will Sigel (drums).
Admission is free. There is a $10 minimum suggested donation. Other donation amounts are encouraged. All monetary donations will support recital expenses, as well as travel, lesson, and living expenses abroad.
Jordan graduated from West Genesee High School in 2008, and completed her degree in Music Performance at Ithaca College this May. As the recipient of the Harriet Hale Woolley Scholarship and residency at the Fondation des Etats-Unis in Paris, she leaves September 30th to pursue a year of private study under the tutelage of double bass virtuoso François Rabbath.
With this musical event, Jordan wishes to express her deep appreciation for the city in which she was raised, and celebrate the creative arts in partnership with the Delavan Art Gallery.
