Claudia Fanelli ’13 and Colleen Wormsley '13 have been named this year's Lee Epstein Scholars by the Direct Marketing Educational Foundation (DMEF).
Claudia, an integrated marketing communications major, has a strong interest in the creative side of marketing/advertising and enjoys graphic design. This summer, she interned in New York City at CID Entertainment, which plans and puts on VIP programs at many music festivals throughout the country. While serving as marketing intern, she worked on social media, graphic design, and research projects. She also assisted on site at several major events, such as Bonnaroo, Governor's Ball, and Electric Forest. She currently works for the Ithaca College Office of Campus Center and Event Services as an event marketing coordinator and is a member of Park Design House. Claudia also has minors in both Art and Art History.
Colleen Wormsley '13, also an integrated marketing communications major, has interned at DoSomething.org, which is the largest nonprofit for teenagers and social change, based in New York City. She also attended Ithaca College's Los Angeles program and interned at GOOD Magazine, focusing on social good stories and innovation, and GOOD/Corps, a social innovation agency. On campus, she is a student leadership consultant and the senior class marketing director, as well as a volunteer for Food for Thought, an Ithaca College nonprofit dedicated to helping children around the world.
The Lee Epstein Scholarship Fund was established in honor of Lee Epstein, founder of the nonprofit Direct Marketers Gateway, Inc. and a lifelong supporter of direct marketing educational programs. The scholarships are provided to full-time undergraduate students in the tri-state area. Headquartered in New York City, the Direct Marketing Educational Foundation (DMEF) works to attract, educate, and place top college students by continuously improving the teaching of world-class direct / interactive marketing and, thereby, expanding and enriching the talent pool of trained, market-ready direct marketers.
