Music from the RPO’s first season to fete its 90th: Hanson’s “Nordic” Symphony (US premiere by the RPO in 1923) and a scherzo by the RPO’s 1923 music director, Eugene Goosens. Plus, Korngold’s soaring Violin Concerto, performed by James Ehnes.

Jazz Ensemble Children’s Concert

Faculty and Guest Recital: Emily Newton, soprano; dawn pierce, mezzo-soprano
Charis Dimaras, piano; Cass Barbour, technical artist
“Written in My Heart” An interactive program exploring operatic letters. Throughout the program, the audience is invited to respond through technical media, written word, and visual imagery, making it a shared expression and collaboration.
Music of Donizetti, Verdi, Massenet, Puccini, Ponchielli, and others
