This edited volume examines how psychology developed from the medieval to the early modern period by exploring its interactions with medicine, philosophy, and theology.
Dr. Klemm's chapter examines how the physician, Peter of Abano (d. 1316) used an ontological theory borrowed from the theologian, Thomas Aquinas, to support his account of the animation of the human embryo.
