“Turn up the Transparency”   -  November 2012 Exhibition

Visual Resources Center, Handwerker Gallery and the Center for Faculty Excellence

Ithaca College’s Visual Resources Center has been de-accessioning 35mm slides from its collection since 2006. Rather than simply fill up landfill sites with these slides, the VRC would like faculty, staff and students to turn them into art and then enter the resulting artwork in an upcoming joint VRC/Handwerker Gallery/Center for Faculty Excellence exhibit in Fall 2012(November 12-December 14).

 The VRC is calling on faculty, staff and students to create art work, using slides obtained from the Department of Art History’s Visual Resources Center (Gannett Center, First floor, room G-122). Participating artists will be given 50 slides (of varying subject matter and quality) to be used in the medium of their choice. For copyright reasons, do not use original slide images for commercial or web purposes.
