Associate Professor of Music, Nicholas Walker, spent last week in Oslo, Norway, playing in the double bass section of the Oslo Philharmonic. Conductor, Marc Soustrot, lead Scandinavia's leading philharmonic orchestra and the Oslo Philharmonic Choir in three nights of performances and an international radio broadcast of Francis Poulenc's Gloria, and Carl Orff's Carmina Burana. Mari Eriksmoen, soprano; Gert Henning-Jensen, tenor; and Morten Frank Larsen, barytone were featured soloists.
Walker was also engaged as a guest lecturer at the Norweigian Academy of music (Norges musikkhøgskole, NMH), where he performed and presented three days of masterclasses and lessons.
