As the fall semester comes to an end, some of you may have an expected or unexpected vacancy in your room, suite or apartment. Whether you anticipate a vacancy or not, the Office of Residential Life strongly recommends that you complete a vacancy form indicating the individual you would like to pull into your room in the event that a space opens. If a vacancy occurs in your room, suite, or apartment and we do not have this form on file, we will assign that space to a student interested in living in that particular area.
Winter Vacancy forms are available now in the Office of Residential Life located in the East Tower and need to be received no later than December 20, 2012 at 5pm. Any vacancy request received after December 20, 2012 at 5pm cannot be guaranteed and the space may be filled by the Office of Residential Life.
In addition to Winter Vacancy process, the Office of Residential Life is offering students the option of potential buyouts. A buyout will enable you to ensure that the Office of Residential Life will not fill the vacancy in your room, apartment or suite. Buying out the space will be an additional cost of $600. Any student interested in buying out their room should complete the buyout request form and return it by December 20, 2012 at 5pm. Buyout requests cannot be guaranteed, however we will do our best to honor as many buyout requests as possible. If you are requesting a buyout I would still strongly recommend that you submit a vacancy request form in case we cannot grant your request.
