The 2013 Orientation Leader and Student Leadership Consultant applications will be available in the spring, beginning in February.  Please visit the Student Engagement and Multicultural Affairs website in the future for updates.  Look out for our 1990's themed advertisements early next semester!

Orientation Leaders (OLs):

The Office of Student Engagement & Multicultural Affairs employs 20 enthusiastic and resourceful students as orientation leaders to assist with summer new student and family orientation. The orientation leader staff will be representative of our diverse undergraduate population. When selecting candidates, we will be looking for a balance of academic year, areas of study, and cultural diversity.

Student Leadership Consultants (SLCs):

Student Leadership Consultants work in conjunction with the Office for Student Engagement and Multicultural Affairs to assist with the development, coordination, and implementation of programs and services offered. They serve as ambassadors to the campus community and should represent the vision and values of the Office. Through continuous education and training, Student Leadership Consultants have the opportunity to expand their skills in the areas of customer service, public speaking, marketing, and program development.

1990's Wiki Tamagotchi Trivia:

Check out the hisoty of  Tamagotchi:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XP-U26LwBIY

"The main controversy over Tamagotchi digital pets involved children taking them to school because the first two Tamagotchi releases (Generation 1 and Generation 2) could die in less than half a day from lack of care. Worry over potential ownership disputes, class disruptions and general distraction from schoolwork has led many schools to ban the product, which led to the virtual pet's decline in popularity. In response to this controversy, Bandai's later Tamagotchi releases included a Pause feature as well as the ability to turn the sound off when desired."

If you have any questions about the OL and SLC positions please contact Sarah Louise Schupp, First-Year Experience Program Coordinator, at sschupp@ithaca.edu.
