“The Stonewater Rapture” will be directed by Sarah Jane Schostack ’13 as the second of the department’s two annual Senior Directing Projects. Tickets for “The Stonewater Rapture” are free but reservations are required. Please be advised that the play contains mature content and some strong language.
“The Stonewater Rapture” tells the story of two teenagers who are exploring their sexuality within the confines of a conservative Texas town. As Whitney grapples with his inexperience and possible homosexuality, Carlyle struggles against her strong sexual impulses towards Whitney versus her religious ideals. After the two have a fight about the nature of their relationship, Carlyle returns to Whitney later asking for help. Having been sexually assaulted and struggling with the aftermath, Carlyle turns to Whitney for strength and stability, something Whitney is not sure he can provide.
To reserve tickets for “The Stonewater Rapture” e-mail ICTams1@gmail.com and indicate a first and second choice of performance date and time. All tickets are distributed on a first come first serve basis, and must be picked up at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start of the performance. Performance times are 5:00pm and 8:00pm on Sunday, February 17th, and 5:30pm and 8:30pm on Monday, February 18th. All performances will be held in Studio 2 in Dillingham Center.
The cast of “The Stonewater Rapture” includes Monique Huff , Evan Arbour, Emily Loewus, and Nikolas Kaim. “The Stonewater Rapture” artistic staff includes director Sarah Jane Schostack, scenic/costume designer Johanna Pan, lighting designer Kristof Janezic, sound designer George Horrocks, technical director Joe Kurzawa, and stage manager Breanne Harchuck.
