Denise Nuttall presented  two Indigenous Rhythm Workshops to 82 participants at the Teaching Choices Symposium 2013: "Tomorrow's Classroom", Faculty of Education, University of Ottawa on February 21st.
Title: Incorporating Indigenous Knowledge Systems in North American Universities: A Workshop on Rhythm and the North Indian Percussion Instrument Tabla.

The Teaching Choices Symposium is an annual professional development conference attended by all University of Ottawa Bachelor of Education teacher candidates. It provides teacher candidates with a range of learning opportunities that supplement their university and practicum experiences. The inclusion of Nuttall's indigenous rhythm workshops on the tabla provided students with an example of a non-western system of education for teaching and learning rhythm in tomorrow's classrooms.
