Free Apple, Inc Seminars on Wednesday April 10th in the Campus Center!

Representatives from Apple Inc., will be on campus Wednesday April 10th doing a series of seminars on a variety of topics. These sessions are free and open to the campus community. They will take place in the Ithaca Falls Room in the Campus Center from 9 am until 4 pm. Click here to sign-up.

The sessions are:

9-11:30 am Apple iOS Mobile Management - Deployment & Best Practices
As many faculty , staff and students are now using or considering ways to use iPads, iPod touches and iPhones in their classrooms, many IT Professionals are updating their knowledge on the Apple "iOS" -- iOS is the software that runs these devices. While many schools have been integrating iPods and now, iPads, for quite some time now, some of more advanced iOS's enterprise capabilities are relatively new and Apple is continuing to update its features and benefits... This presentation will concentrate on deploying and best practices of iOS devices. This session will include a demo of Apple Configurator, they will discuss MDM and Profile Manager.

Noon-1 pm: iPad In Motion -- iPad Workflows in the Classroom
iPad is changing the learning landscape on campuses everywhere! In this session, we'll explore a "day in the life" of a student and instructor, and demonstrate how the iPad can be a powerful solution that transforms both the academic and personal experience. Participants will also understand how iPad improves learning workflow, enhances communication, fosters collaboration and contributes to a greener campus.

1-2 pm Open Session Sharing - Examples of how iOS is being used in Education
In this session we will provide examples of how the Apple iOS is being used in education as well as answer specific questions from attendees regarding specific needs and tools.

2-3 pm iBooks Author Demo
iBooks Author is an amazing app that allows anyone to create beautiful Multi-Touch textbooks — and just about any other kind of book — for iPad. With galleries, video, interactive diagrams, 3D objects, mathematical expressions, and more, these books bring content to life in ways the printed page never could.

3-4 pm iTunes U
With the explosion of iPads and iOS on campuses, ITunes U is absolutely the best way to deliver content and support today's teaching strategies. With it's latest update, any faculty member can publish their course material, free of charge. You get to share your ideas and material in a powerful new way, while your students get a rich, immersive learning experience using the iTunes U app for iPad. iTunes U is available no matter where you teach — at any college, university, or K-12 school. Schools can use the Public Course manager to make content available to anyone through the iTunes Store. Both public and private distribution is available. It is the perfect solution for faculty needing a distribution portal or students needing rich, immersive material optionally delivered as a stream or downloaded. Content can be traditional Audio , Video, podcasts, PDFs, Word & Excel Documents
