Attention Rising Sophomores! Important Housing Information

April 15, 2013 - Block Housing applications are due to the Residential Life Office in the East Tower by 5PM.  Block housing is an option for groups of 4-6 students that want to live next to each other in a block of rooms.

Please keep in mind that groups of 5 students would require a single to be used in the block and may be harder to accommodate than groups of 4 or 6 due to the lack of singles that may be available after junior and senior housing selection.  Your group needs to be able to have a gender breakdown that works for the number of rooms you are selecting (i.e. a group of 3 men and 1 woman would not be able to be accommodated since the room would have two doubles, one with 2 men and one with a man and a woman, which is not permitted).  Also, students within groups that occupy different room types (doubles and single) will be charged according to the room type they live in.  You can view current room rates here:  https://www.ithaca.edu/finaid/tuition/.

Block housing awards will be given on June 24 and will be prioritized by semesters completed and housing priority number.  The Office of Residential Life will place blocks into spaces based on preferences given on the application on July 5th.

July 8, 2013 - Sophomore squatting begins on HomerConnect.  Any squatting-eligible space that is still available on this date will be able to be selected on this date.  Please remember that some spaces are not squatter-eligible due to the type of building (i.e. FYRE) or room type.  For further questions about squatting, please refer to our FAQ page:  https://www.ithaca.edu/reslife/faqs/category/39/

July 10 & 12, 2013 - Traditional housing selection begins for all rising sophomore students.  Any available space on campus will be eligible for you to select into, including spaces in apartments or any available singles.  Housing will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis via HomerConnect.  No lottery numbers will be assigned.
