H & S Pre-Doc Diversity Fellows Panel & Celebration

Join us for the fellows' brief presentations and a reception to honor them.
Please join the Humanities & Sciences Dean's Office and the Pre-Doc Committee to honor our pre-doctoral diversity fellows. Each fellow will present a brief overview of their dissertation research and then we'll celebrate with a reception. More information about the fellows:
- Armando Lara-Millan is a PhD candidate in the Department of Sociology at Northwestern University. His dissertation is "Hospital Beds and Jail Beds: Los Angeles County and the New Management of Poverty 1978-2011."
- Lai Sze Tso is a PhD candidate in the Joint Program in Sociology and Women's Studies at the University of Michigan. Her dissertation is "'Making It' in China: Why Rural Women Climb the Ladder by Moving into China's Cities."
- Ana Paula Pimentel Walker is a PhD candidate in Anthropology at the University of California, San Diego. Her dissertation is "Face-to-Face Citizenship: The Effects, Ethics, and Aesthetics of Participatory Municipal Planning in Brazil."
