PROJECT NAME: East Clinton Street Bridge Replacement and Prospect Street Reconstruction Project
PROJECT LOCATION: East Clinton Street and Prospect Street
PROJECT START DATE: Monday, April 29, 2013
SCHEDULED COMPLETION DATE: July 15, 2013
PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND GOAL:
· Address street geometric deficiencies to improve traffic flow and facilitate traffic operations.
· Correct identified pavement deficiencies that will extend the useful life of the street and maintain it in a structural sound condition using cost effective pavement treatments which provide low life cycle costs.
· Improve pedestrian and bicycle accommodations between the South Cayuga Street and South Aurora Street by providing continuous sidewalks on both sides of East Clinton Street and Prospect Street and incorporating one shared lane on one side of the street and a bicycle lane on the other side of the street.
LOCAL IMPACTS: Westbound traffic will be closed during construction. An off-site detour will be utilized during construction and authorized local vehicular traffic will have access to their properties during construction. Police vehicle access to and from the Police Department, Court House, and the Police Department Parking lots will be maintained. Pedestrians will have access through the project area during construction utilizing existing or newly constructed sidewalks.
RECOMMENDED OR STATED DETOURS IN PLACE:
Westbound travelers coming from South Hill/Ithaca College area into downtown will follow Aurora Street north to Seneca Street and follow Seneca west to Albany Street for Route 96B.
PARKING RESTRICTIONS: Parking will not be allowed with in the construction site area.
