The group will partner with Occupy Sandy folks to assist Sandy survivors in the Far Rockaway/Sheepshead Bay area. We'll be mucking out and cleaning debris from their homes, doing some light demolition work, and more.
The group will leave on Friday, May 17th in the late afternoon and return on Sunday, May 19th in the evening. We will travel by van and stay in rustic accommodations, which are still being finalized.
If you would iike to join the group leaving from Ithaca, or meet up with us if you are already in the downstate-NJ area for the summer, please contact Fran Spadafora Manzella, volunteer with LKNB, by April 29 (contact info below). She will need to know the following information from you right away:

-age
-contact info:email, cell/home phone numbers
-special construction or other skills
-can you drive a van?

The group is finalizing all the arrangements now, and needs to get an idea about how many people are interested.
There will be a gathering of everyone going on the trip closer to the departure date. Because LKNB is volunteer run, we'll need to ask all participants for a financial contribution for food and the vans. We also ask that volunteers come with flexibility, spontaneity, and patience!
Individuals/small groups under 18 will need to be accompanied by a parent(s) or guardian(s).
