Matt Fee, director of the Park Scholar Program, presented at the recent international conference Ireland and Cinema: Culture and Contexts, held at University College Cork, in Cork, Ireland. Fee presented "Gothic Anxiety and Historical Transformation in Irish Cinema," research that examines how Irish films from the 1980s and 1990s use the Gothic in order to examine anxieties around Irish identity in the late twentieth century, particularly involving Ireland's Anglo-Irish inheritance from its colonial eighteenth century.
