Among 50 Fellowship recipients in various fields, Grossmann demonstrated significant achievement in his discipline. He will begin his stay at the Liguria Study Center this coming September.
Located on the Italian Riviera in the small town of Bogliasco near Genoa, the Bogliasco Foundation’s Liguria Study Center offers residential fellowships for artists and scholars of all nations who have made significant contributions to the arts and humanities. The Study Center is comprised of three separate villas, each villa containing private living quarters and studios, one of which is designated specifically for composers. While surrounded by a bustling semi-urban environment, the villas and their gardens offer an oasis of calm with spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea and the Ligurian coastline.
Grossmann's music has been performed throughout the United States, Latin America and Europe by ensembles such as the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, Peruvian National Symphony, New England Philharmonic, Aspen Sinfonia, Kiev Camerata, Orquesta de la Universidad del Norte (Paraguay), Boston Musica Viva, Nouvel Ensemble Moderne, Pierrot Lunaire Ensemble Wien, Da Capo Chamber Players, Seattle Chamber Players, Jack Quartet and Amernet Quartet . His works find inspiration in a wide range of subjects, from medieval music to Latin American modern art.
