Gavin Cote ’12, an Ithaca College Sport Media grad and Content Associate for ESPN, was recently featured on ESPN.com’s Front Row for his work with the network. The article chronicles Cote’s path from a summer intern in 2011 to his current role compiling highlight packages of LeBron James and the Miami Heat for SportsCenter.
Cote's work has been featured prominently in ESPN’s coverage of the Heat’s historic season which includes a near-record-breaking 27-game winning streak and a run to the NBA Finals.
In the article, Coordinating Producer Judson Burch praised Cote for his storytelling and poise under pressure. He also said Cote came up with creative ways to package clips during the Heat’s win streak which spanned nearly two months.
Formerly the Content Associate for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Cote was assigned to the Heat early this season when production assistant Wesley Allen went to SportsCenter and Baseball Tonight. Besides being among the league’s most popular teams, the Heat and Thunder are two of just three NBA teams with exclusive Content Associates at ESPN, making them two of the more desirable assignments at the network.
