Reminder: Sakai Upgrades and Down Time Monday, August 12, 2013

Sakai will be upgraded to version 2.9 on Monday, August 12, 2013 from 9:00 - Noon. During this upgrade the system will be unavailable.

Sakai 2.9 offers many improved features:

• Improved user interface design, including collapsible toolbar navigation
• Navigation directly to a tool from the site navigation bar
• More user-friendly rich-text editor which allows for easier copy/paste from Microsoft Word and the ability to add math formulas
• Enhanced help documentation making it easier to search and browse for instructions regarding Sakai's toolset.
• HTML 5 video player for better mobile experience
• Groups can collaboratively edit Lesson Builder pages
• Improved integration with Turnitin OriginalityCheck software
• Improved integration with Turning Technologies' clicker system

No content will be affected by this upgrade, just the look, feel and some functionality! ITS is in the process of updating documentation and videos to reflect these changes. Please contact the ITS Helpdesk if you have any questions about this upgrade.
