Looking for a change from the typical semester? The Immersion Semester Program offers students a chance to earn 18 credits while exploring the peaks of Colorado and rafting down the rivers of Utah.
This 90-day study away program uses experiential learning to integrate adventure pursuits, leadership, group dynamics, facilitation, instruction, and academic theory. Participants take six courses that meld philosophy, leadership, technical skills, land use ethics, wilderness medicine, and logistics.
The ISP includes opportunities for national certifications in Wilderness First Responder and Leave No Trace Master Educator. It is a major component to the Outdoor Adventure Leadership (OAL) major and Outdoor Pursuits (OP) minor, but students from all programs are encouraged to participate.
