Faculty, Staff, and Students:

One of the goals of Healthy People 2020 is to reduce the number of new cancer cases as well as the illness, disability, and death caused by cancer. Yet, cancer remains a leading cause of death in the United States, second only to heart disease. Several factors are involved in the development of breast cancer occurrence including the exposure to estrogen and estrogen-like substances in our environment.

To learn more about decreasing your risk of breast cancer, please join us for “Know 2 B Well,” an interactive workshop focusing on how the environment may affect one’s risk of breast cancer and how to protect yourself and your family from environmental hazards. Please consider joining us for one of the following workshops:

Topics addressed include: How the environment may affect breast cancer risk; How to calculate your personal estimated breast cancer risk; Breast cancer in men; Prevention strategies.

Light refreshments will be served. Prizes and incentives will be provided.

Students can earn SLI credits by signing up for the workshop here: https://orgsync.com/login/ithaca-college
