Linguistics, Diversity, and Social Justice

Tuesday/Thursdays 2:35 - 3:50 in Williams 314.

This course examines personal and collective linguistic diversity as a 21rst century proficiency while presenting an overview of the history, theory, research, and pedagogies used to cultivate multilingual, biliterate, and cross-cultural competencies. Students will propose, design, and implement social justice projects that advocate for linguistic diversities from an enrichment perspective. (3 credits). Sophomore standing or Permission of Instructor, Lecture / Discussion / Field Work.
