Reply With A Meeting Invitation
When it comes to e-mail messages, most people are familiar with the basic options to reply, reply all, and forward the message. But did you know you can reply to an e-mail message with a meeting invitation in Outlook 2010 for Windows and Outlook 2011 for Mac?
Simply open the e-mail and click on the "reply with meeting" button (calendar icon with a left-pointing purple arrow) found in the ribbon along the top of the message window. Clicking this button will open a new meeting window with the e-mail message sender and recipient(s) now listed as invitees and the body of the original e-mail copied to the notes of the meeting. This is a great way to turn an e-mail conversation into a productive meeting.
Note: This option is not available in the Outlook Web Application.
Every week, ITS provides a tip or trick for using the Outlook Calendar. Training on Outlook Calendar is available in the Technology Learning Center (Friends Hall 101).
