Business Administration student Windsor Lindsay ('17) won this Fall's edition of the Perialas Oratory Contest. Her persuasive speech about the need to adopt year round schooling was selected over speeches presented by finalists Kathleen Callahan (Sport Media, '17), John Horan (TVR, '14) and Elise Steele (Business Administration, '16).
Students were selected for the competition from sections of Public Communication and Business and Professional Communication. Nine students competed in semifinals with the final four presenting speeches in from of a panel of judges comprised of students from Ithaca's Chapter of Lambda Pi Eta. The contest was held on December 12 in Textor 101.

The Perialas Prize, established in 1999 to honor Constantine (Gus) Perialas, former colleague in the Department of Speech Communication, intends to honor and facilitate the practice of the principles of “Classical” oratory in the educational mission of the college.
