Please join me on Thursday, February 6th for the fourth Faculty Colloquium of the academic year. Dr. Alison B. Shields, Department of Marketing and Law, will be presenting “Brand Nostalgia and Consumer Responses to Changed Brands.”
Professor Shields received her Ph.D. from Kent State in 2013. Her research interests include branding strategies; consumer brand relationships; consumer decision making; and consumption patterns over time. Her recent work on brand nostalgia establishes the connection between consumer acceptance or rejection of updated brands and the consumer’s reported nostalgia towards the brand.
The IC Faculty Colloquium, launched in 2012, is a monthly event designed to provide a forum for faculty to share with one another their scholarly and creative work. This is a chance for people across department and school lines to learn more about the exciting pursuits of their colleagues and to engage with one another as members of a common learning community.
The Colloquium will take place from 5:00p.m.-6:30p.m. in the Clark Lounge of the Campus Center. We will enjoy wine, appetizers, an outstanding presentation, and excellent conversation. The first half-hour will be a social time during which we will hear a live music performance from faculty members Aaron Tindall (tuba) and Nathan Hess (pianist).
I look forward to seeing you there.
