Categorize Calendar Events

Meetings and appointments on your calendar can be categorized and color-coded.  Simply right-click (control-click on a Mac) an event on your calendar and hover your mouse cursor over "categorize" in the popup menu.  You will then be presented with a list of categories that you can designate for the event.  These categories can be edited and customized.

Using categories can help organize the look of your calendar and also assist you in searching through calendar events. This option is available in Outlook 2010 for Windows, Outlook 2011 for Mac, and the Outlook Web App.

Every week, ITS provides a tip or trick for using the Outlook Calendar.  Training on Outlook Calendar is available in the Technology Learning Center (Friends Hall 101).

Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Tony Tabone at atabone@ithaca.edu or (607) 274-1045. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible.
