The Sustainability Café on Monday, February 10th will feature Jeff Scott presenting “A Better Tomorrow: Sodexo Initiatives”. The Café will be held in Center for Natural Sciences Room 112 at 4:00PM, in conjunction with the Environmental Seminar. The Spring 2014 Sustainability Café/Environmental Seminar series is focused on the concept of Campus Sustainability: Hiding in Plain Sight.
Jeff Scott is the general manager for Ithaca College Dining Services, which has as its tag-line:"Sustainable – Healthy – Fresh”. Under Scott’s leadership, Ithaca College has emerged as a leading example for Sodexo-operated accounts on how to make dining more sustainable: from strategies to support composting and food waste reduction, to the integration of more local, organic and seasonal food products, to undertaking the nation’s first comprehensive campus dining energy and water reduction program. Scott championed the dining sustainability internship program, which gives students a significant role in devising ways to engage their peers and dining employees alike to advance sustainability thinking and practice within dining operations.
“Teachable edibles” – local, organic and/or seasonal snacks – for the Spring 2014 Sustainability Café series are being sponsored by Ithaca College Dining Services whose motto is “Sustainability – Healthy – Fresh.” Please bring your reusable mug and fill up at the nearest drinking fountain or provide your own beverage of choice.
