Paula Ioanide, Assistant Professor in the Center for the Study of Culture, Race, and Ethnicity (CSCRE), has been invited to give a talk at the University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB) on Tuesday, February 11. Dr. Ioanide’s lead-talk titled, “Cages Are the New Plantations: Policing, Prisons and Abolition Sights for a New Millennium,” is part of UCSB Multicultural Center’s “Race Matters Series” and focuses on “how to stop the new Jim Crow in your town and the urgency to create new freedom dreaming sights and sites.”
