The Division of Institutional Advancement is seeking a highly innovative current Ithaca College employee with an intrinsic ability to present information to others effectively and inspire a team that is collaborative and focused on results to serve as the next Director of Advancement Services.  The Director will provide leadership in the innovative use of technology to support IA’s strategic plan, focused on the comprehensive fundraising campaign scheduled to conclude in 2020.  We believe talent internal to the IC community will:

·         Have a familiarity with the college’s technical environment, business processes and needs during a time when data management and data integrity are critical to a campaign only months away from commencing;

·         Ensure continuity during a time when the technology landscape is shifting at IC; and

·         Bring fresh ideas and the requisite skills and experience while still allowing for rapid integration to IA.   

 

The successful candidate will identify opportunities to enhance institutional advancement’s ability to utilize data in making decisions; identify and advocate for and implement appropriate business intelligence tools that are critical to measure institutional advancement’s performance toward goals; provide and evaluate information needed for planning and assessment and innovative executive level dashboards; provide strategic direction and oversee all aspects of system conversions, upgrades and report development for the alumni and development data system (Advance) and affiliated systems; and manage and prioritize all requests for data from Ithaca College’s alumni and development database, ensuring data integrity.

 

Qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of four years systems experience; previous experience managing the operational aspects of an online information management system and writing programs to extract and analyze data; demonstrated ability to gather business requirements, identify and deploy state of the art software tools to address business needs; in-depth knowledge of SQL (Structured Query Language) and other data retrieval and reporting tools; previous supervisory experience, excellent attention to detail, and organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; ability to prioritize and manage the staff and budget resources allocated to systems projects; strong problem-solving ability, and understanding of institutional advancement business practices and needs are required.  Experience supporting institutional advancement is preferred
