Please join H&S Pre-Law and the Ithaca College Alumni Association in welcoming prominent entertainment lawyer Michael McNeil, alumnus of the Park School of Communications, to campus. McNeil will share his insights and answer questions about his academic and professional experiences at a dinner held in School of Business conference room 301 at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 20.
All students who are considering law school, interested in entertainment law, or simply curious about how an accomplished attorney went from being an IC student to the leading counsel of a major media company are encouraged to attend!

About Michael McNeil
Michael McNeil is an entertainment lawyer and the head of business affairs for Weta Digital Ltd. Weta Digital is a New Zealand visual effects company, which earned five Oscars for its work on the Lord of the Rings trilogy, King Kong, and Avatar. In addition to these films, McNeil has done the deal work for dozens of others, including the Hobbit trilogy, the Planet of the Apes films, Iron Man 3, The Avengers, and Tin Tin. He has also been the executive producer for the children's animation series Jane and the Dragon on NBC, and was a member of the team that originated the WotWots television series.
In addition to negotiating nine-figure production deals, his experience includes virtually every element of production, ranging from talent agreements, publishing deals, inbound and outbound licensing, international co-productions and distribution, trademark issues, and cybersquatting, to a surprisingly large number of technology matters.
