Ithaca College Theatre will present a talkback discussion with special guest Michael Friedman, American composer and lyricist. Engage in an interactive dialogue with the composer and lyricist of Gone Missing, originally created by The Civilians. The event is free and open to the public. It will begin immediately following the 2pm performance of Ithaca College Theatre’s production of Gone Missing on Saturday, March 29th (roughly 3:30pm). Michael Friedman has been the composer and lyricist with The Civilians since he became one of the founding Associate Artists in 2001. The company is a center for investigative theatre that is committed to community engagement and the commission, development, and producing of new plays. With The Civilians Michael Friedman has been the composer and lyricist for Gone Missing, Canard, Canard Goose?, This Beautiful City, and Immensity among others.
Michael Friedman was also the composer and lyricist for the musical Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, which premiered on Broadway in October of 2010. His work has been heard at New York Theatre Workshop, Roundabout Theatre Company, Second Stage, Signature Theatre, Hartford Stage, ART, and Williamstown Theatre Festival, to name a few.
Performances of Gone Missing will take place in the Clark Theatre at 8 p.m. on March 25, 27, 28, 29, and April 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. A 2 p.m. matinee will take place on March 29 and 30 and April 5.
