Michael Clark Essay Contest--Submissions Close Tuesday, 4/1

The submissions period for the inaugural Michael Clark Essay Prize will close this coming Tuesday, April 1.  A prize of $200 will be awarded to an outstanding undergraduate essay in Renaissance literature.

Any current IC student is eligible to enter the contest.  The guidelines are as follows:

--One entry per student
--Essays may address any aspect of Renaissance literature
--Essays must have been written within the past three semesters (spring 2013, fall 2013, spring 2014)
--There is no maximum or minimum page count, but students are encouraged to submit pieces that demonstrate an ability to sustain a rich and thoughtful analytical argument
--Completed submissions packets include a short cover letter and two paper copies of the essay under consideration, delivered to 309 Muller Center no later than Tuesday, April 1.

The prize will be awarded at Sigma Tau Delta's end-of-the-year reception, date and time TBA.

Michael Clark '15 was a dedicated student and a caring, compassionate friend, who possessed a wide range of creative talents.  This essay prize will be offered annually in his memory by the Department of English as a tribute to his deep and abiding interest in Renaissance English literature.
