Handwerker Gallery's current show Strange Bedfellows—a nationally traveling exhibition exploring the collaborative practice in queer art—will be on view throughout the weekend, offering extended gallery hours on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to the public and for admitted students and their families attending Ithaca Today events. The exhibition will officially close Sunday, April 13, 2014.

On display at the Handwerker from March 17—April 11, Strange Bedfellows is curated by San Francisco art historian Amy Cancelmo and is fiscally sponsored by the Queer Cultural Center (San Francisco). This exhibition offers a multiplicity of perspective on the queer experience and a variety of strategies for collaboration including political organizing, empathy, intersubjective identity, appropriation, familial relations, and romantic partnership.

Following Strange Bedfellows, the upcoming exhibition "Letters to Our Future Selves: 2014 Senior Student Show" opens April 17 and will feature more than 30 Ithaca College graduating student artist. The work is chosen through a faculty-juried process from the Department of Art and the Department of Cinema, Photography, and Media Arts. This year the show will be curated and installed by the Museum Practices and Methods class taught by Keri Watson in the Department of Art History.
